Do I need the Automatic Watering System?Updated a year ago

No, our Automatic Watering System (AWS) is an optional accessory for any of our EarthBox gardening systems (Original, Junior, and Root & Veg). The AWS makes it so that you don't have to add water yourself. In other words, the AWS makes the EarthBox fully self-watering. It's a great addition if you sometimes forget or are unable to water your EarthBox garden(s) for whatever reason (e.g. travel, illness, etc.).

You can purchase our Automatic Watering System here. It's available in a 2-box, 4-box, 6-box, and 12-box. The amount you select is equivalent to how many boxes you can connect to the AWS. Please note the sensor is different between the EarthBox Original and EarthBox Root & Veg. The EarthBox Junior uses the same sensor as the Original, but requires a taller water fill tube to work properly.
