I didn't pack the corners with wet growing media, is this a problem?Updated a year ago

During the initial set up of your EarthBox system, it is very important to pack the corners with moistened growing media. Packing the corners firmly with a peat-based potting mix ensures proper wicking and water absorption.

If you forgot this step, you may still have success, but there's a good chance you'll experience wicking issues at some point. If that happens, you can help restart the wicking process by taking a stick or paint stirrer and sticking it into the soil where the wicking wells are located. You want to fill your box’s reservoir with water and then thoroughly wet the wicking well corners before packing them down again. Lastly, water your whole box from the top until the growing media is visibly wet.
